First Planted Tank

So, I'm beginning my first planted tank. I plan on ordering the plants today.

This is roughly what I want it to look like (awesome paint skills amiright?) The foreground is hairgrass, the large one on the left is an amazon sword to the right of the sword is ludwigia repens and the one on the far right is a red tiger lotus.
Will my light be sufficient enough for these plants? The substrate I'm using is eco-complete. Also, feel free to give me some ideas for plants and aquascaping the aquarium. My budget is about 80 dollars for plants, not including shipping.

Edit: The tank is a 55 gallon.

This is the fixture I'm using. Also I just got paid for a job I did awhile back, so budget is now 140 dollars

Looks like a plan. Try getting the plants on here, probably save ya some money and the quality of plants from the members is usually awesome and they will help ya with light requirements etc..

Good luck and welcome1

@Kevinmichael77
Thanks, I'll look at the "swap 'n shop" and see if I find anything I like.
I want to spend more money on the actual plants than I do on the shipping charges though.

Yeah if ya can one stop shop that's ideal but I'd check it out for sure. There are deals there and the plants your looking for are pretty east to come by.

Without knowing what light you will be using, and what size tank it will be, it isn't possible to say if it is adequate for those plants.

Oops, the tank is a 55 gallon, I have a 216 watt T5 HO fixture. Slightly under 4 wpg.

That may be a lot if light for that tank. Hoppy is the light guru here but that may require co2. I'm running 48w t5ho 25 inches above the substrate and I'm getting medium light now but still require co2. Algae may be a issue but I'm not the expert on this, just have a little experience but algae issues big time.

I was planning on doing a DIY co2 system. I don't know how well it would work on a 55 though..

Yeah me either I'd assume you'd need a few going at once to keep it somewhat stable. I just know ya want it as consistent ad possible. I was planning to do the same but after much debate went the pressurized route.

Believe me, If I could afford a pressurized co2 system, I wouldn't hesitate to get one.
Unfortunately, being in high school I don't have that much money :/
