33 or 20L? What's your opinion??

I am looking for a new tank. I have a friend that is selling a 33g with a stand. The tank is 30Lx18H and comes with a what Looks to be a pine stand. They want 75.00 for it.
I also am looking at the 20 long as an option. This would be a new tank and no stand, or I would have to purchase one.
This tank is going to house plants and shrimp. I want to grow some nice and more difficult species, plants and shrimp.

So your opinion and vote are needed...
Which is better the 33g or the 20L?

Mixing difficult plants and difficult shrimp usually isn't the best idea. But for the tank, I'd combine your ideas and find a 33L. You'll thank me when you find one.

Will the plants you want to try look/do better in an 18H tank?

Does lighting you plan work well in an 18H tank?

That would be my 1st consideration. The shrimp won't care about tank size. To me the worst thing is to set up and realize I'm not happy with the size tank I have. IMHO better to spend a bit more and get it right from the start than but things twice.

Went with the 20L. I really like the dimensions of this tank. Gonna just put plants in it for now. I am also trying out fluorite for the first time. Not sure how I feel about it because it's red. I have only ever used Eco complete in the past. I am also going old school with a ugf. I haven't used one of these since I was a kid. Running CO2 via paintball setup and dosing dry ferts. Wish me luck!
