Does anyone use this? Ive heard a lil about it but not exactly sure how you "dose" or use this stuff. Is it only for emmersed plants? TIA

It is only for submersed plants. search on here for metricide, i've got several posts that will explain how to dose it. Don't have time to look right now.

I sell a product that is similar, but dosed using a pump for convenience.

The ingredient is the same. The concentrations vary greatly.

well the dosing isn't the same. It depends a lot on how you get it supplied. IN metricide it is higher concentration. Lab glut comes in concentrations of up to 50%. RootMedic Carbplus is double that of Excel.

Double? Wow, with all the blame some people are putting on Excel for causing plant melt that would make even me nervous!

only certaint plants melt with glut. vals are the only ones Ive personally nuked but there are a few others. most love it, like HC, most stems etc. I just got some metricide and look forward to being able to dose less with the same result and half the price.

It is dosed in a pump... You dose half as much..... So... You know, the same amount of glut. It just lasts longer.

Are we still talking about for use in submersed setup? It isnt useful in emmersed setups. Emmersed plants get their carbon from the air.

Its for a emmersed setup. Someone at the lfs here informed me that he used
Glutaraldehyde for his plants. He had one of his tanks in the store and looked immaculate. He said it acted like a sterilizer and steroids for the plants.

It isnt steroids.... Good soil and air circulation are much better. Sterilizer it is. That isnt a good thing though, IMHO
