The WORST things about keeping fish

I do a tiny bit of freelancing for Cracked.com (3 published, 1 in the accepted pile) and I'm working on an article about how fish are the worst pets. (Note that I have four tanks). So far I have:

Water-related woes (heavy, ruins floors, chemistry)
Fish can get you sick through TB-->horrible skin lesions
Destroying the environment through wild catch or releasing into non-native habitats
Expensive

Is time maintenance another one? Boredom? That most fish stores don't know what they're selling? The horrible tank addiction we all have? I need seven total that I can back up with facts. If it gets published, I'll let you know.

Definitely the price for me.

How about your spouse keep wanting to eat your pets?

Price and the economy causing local fish stores and pet shops to either close or raise their prices.

Learning curve can be steep and a newbie tank can be really ugly and stinky.

Fish stores that don't know WTF they're doing. An animal is a commitment. Unfortunately, when they give you the wrong animal or care info...

I still feel awful I had to take back my apisto because he wouldn't do well in a 10g with shrimps.

Only bad thing I can think about owning fish might be the initial purchase of them (since I buy mine from Rachel, mmmm shipping). Maintenance isn't bad, food costs are quite low. I enjoy my tank as a whole, not just for the fish and as a result I take care of everything as a whole. Takes me maybe 15-20 minutes for a general maintenance day (water change, ferts, gh booster, scrape algae, clean intake/powerhead). Fish are amazing pets once you get a good routine going.
