seasonal hobby?

Are any of you in the same boat I am---where I can only buy fish and plants during a couple of months out of the year?

I live in Georgia and it is already in the high 80s for high temps during the day. Just a couple of weeks ago it was in the 30s at night. Only leaves a few weeks where I can order livestock and feel OK about the living.

Ask the shipper to send the fish with cold packs.

Here in the Northeast, we have to be even more concerned about temps. We have to request cold and heat packs. I've ordered livestock for years, and to be honest the only time I've ever had any issues at all is between Thanksgiving and New Years. You can almost always expect a shipping delay of some sort, so I just avoid those two months or so.

If you're ordering from someone whose been in the business for a while, they'll usually take the weather into account before packing your order, without you requesting anything. At least the good ones do.

Also ship to your closest 24 hour fedex office. At least the box will be stored in a/c rather than on a truck

Have you ever seen a French Ninja? NO because they are sneaky.
