Really need help! Weird black film

So for months I've had this hard black film on the caves and some of the plant leaves in my fish tank. Nothing I do gets rid of it! Chemi-pure, water changes, algae eaters (otos and bnp) Feeding less, snails, scrubbing, another filter additive I've forgotten the name of now.
I've been adding fertiliser by the EI method recently. Hopefully getting the plants healthier would help. They were a little yellow.

I'm not sure what else to do. I do weekly 50% water changes and use prime. The substrate is black moon sand. It's been set up for almost a year now and was doing so well.

The filters are an aquaclear 70 and a fluval 305. It also has a maxijet pro in the utility pump mode for more flow.

Houses to apistos, 2 flag cichlids, 2 phantom tetras (lost 2 when I accidently dosed them with chlorine, and 1 when I was gone as the pet sitter didn't bother to top off the water and it got below the heater.) 6 albino cories, a bushy nosed pleco,5 kuhlie loaches, 2 nerite snails, 12 neon tetras, and 2 bolivian tetras.

the tank is 80 degrees.

Any advice is appreciated.

What are the tank dimensions, and exactly what lighting are you using? Those two parameters determine what almost everything else should be.

The light is a 30 inch Current USA Nova Extreme 2x24 Watt T5 HO 10,000K Freshwater. The tank is 56 gallon column. It's 30"x18"x24" tall. Also I was wrong the algae isn't hard like I thought it was, it's slimy.. maybe it's cyano ?

You have enough light that CO2 is very desirable, and possibly enough that CO2 is essential. Without CO2 it is very hard to avoid algae problems, especially black brush algae, which can turn leaves on Anubias black, and blacken the edges of lots of leaves, as well as growing in little brushes over the leaf surfaces. Cyano stinks out of the tank, is slimy, and can come from too much light or too little nitrates. It can look like black sheets too, even though it is really dark green.

You should at least dose Excel if you can't afford CO2, or raise the light a few inches up to 6-8 inches.

A dirty filter and or big biomass will cause this algae.. Time to clean out the filter pads maybe.

I cleaned out the filter. I also added some floss to help polish the water. I do have a co2 tank.. Guess I should go and get it filled. It's a pain tho because it's only 5lbs. I do have some excel coming. Maybe I'll see how that does first.
Thanks for the advice.
