Exclamation CO2 and lighting in small fry tank

Hi guys im going to be short on this one. I have a 3 gallon fry tank holding arround 20-30 fry (guppy/platy/swordtail/variatus platy). I have 5 plants in there. 1 anubias bartery 2 i dont know what plants they grow from a rhizome and are slow growing like the anubias and 2 cuttings from egeria. The lighting is 25w CFL thats too much and makes my tank go crazy with algae. I reduced it by placing some paper around the bulb and its darker now. Im thinking of doing a compact yeast co2 system with a coke bottle because i dont see much growth in the plants i add 1-2ml of fertilizer every 2 weeks and i change 20% of water every other week. I dont see any photosynthesis going on the plants dont produce O2 bubbles and im not surprised. So should i add co2 or not? Peace

it's normal NOT to see pearling (o2 on leaves) so don't worry. I wouldn't add co2 as it's a fry tank and you want the best possible environment for fish. I assume that plants aren't the priority. Throw in a ton of floating plants and just have those to suck up your excess nutrients. guppy grass, elodea, hornwort, salvinia, duckweed, water lettuce... etc etc. I wouldn't even fertilize. elodea and anubias can DEF survive w/o.

eh might want to move your fry to a bigger tank... 30 in a 3g sounds a bit much.
