My planted tank is going crazy

Let me add that my betta fish, is my pet. He lives in a 1 gallon Aqueon Betta Bowl. Over time I learned nitrogen was getting a little high, so naturally I added 1 plant. Then came the second plant. First ludwidgia Ripens then Java Fern, then I bought some betta bulbs, and they have taken off like crazy. It has been 3 weeks or so. My fish loves his jungle and I'm considering purchasing a larger tank. I only have gravel, no fertilizer and an incandescent light-bulb of 14 watts (standard w/tank). I was hoping fish poo would make for good fertilizer, but with the growth of the plants, I think they need more. They do recycle some leaves.

Help...... The plants are taking over.... and they are so freaking pretty. The fish loves swimming in them too.
