Yeah count the drops until it changes color. That is your KH

And you have to purchase 4dkh solution from an online source or something. google it

Oh well I may be wrong, but I think that there are two different tests for hardness. Kh and dKh

a four dKh solution should only take 4 drops to turn both blue and then yellow

Nah. A decent graduated cylinder will work well. It will probably just mean making a huge batch and diluting several times.

I was feeling really lazy, so I just did a quick google search ("how to make a 4dkh solution") and came up with this:

http://www.aquahobby.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=50152

I haven't checked the math. But I know I've seen step-by-step instructions at least a couple times on TPT, so you can always search here. Just remember that you'll be working in metrics, so a gallon of distilled water is less than the 4L which would be ideal to start with.

This is the method that I used and it seemed to work very well: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/pl...ndard-how.html

Pretty easy but you end up with a lot. If you get tired of trying to make it, I have some for sale here: https://www.plantedtank.net/forums/sp...dkh-fluid.html
