I second this being a good read! I just read the second issue last week about dwarf shrimp breeding. The next issue is all about planted tanks and plants.

Nice magazine. Surprisingly long. Most magazines are a few dozen pages these days.

Is this issue available on shelves yet?

Wow. I almost didn't click after reading "magazine" since they all seem like tired rags catering to the lowest common denominator these days, but this one looks promising. Subscribed.

I'll probably have to subscribe. I buy (and enjoy) CORAL on a fairly regular basis and I don't even have a saltwater tank lol.

Just took a look at the first issue online. Nice in depth articles.

I subscribed. I asked too if I could get the shrimpy issue...

Edit: I don't think that one is in English is it? I've only had a year of German... I don't know that it'd be good enough. Then again, the only way to get better... IS MORE GERMAN!

Barnes & Noble carries Amazonas, but I don't know if they have Issue II yet.

The 1-year subscription is only $27 I think, which is great for such a high-quality publication.

It's 29 but you get digital AND print. Which is fun when you have a kindle. Too bad the B&N shut down here. :/

Thanks! I'll buy the next issue from the shelves and order my subscription afterwards.

It was originally a German magazine, and has won several awards and is considered a classic. Back issues in Germany are considered collector items and go for big bucks.

This is the first English/American version/ The managing editor is Mary Sweeney, who is the former editor of TFH, and a writer of several books. The American version is licensed from Germany, and each issue carries some articles from Germany, as well as some from American writers. The advisory board for the American version includes several very well known pioneers in the hobby including Ad Konings and Ray Kingfish Lucas. Their articles on fish breeding can get very technical, plants not so much, but there is not much fluff in this magazine.

I have a couple articles coming out in this magazine too!
