So....... i have nano tank lying around empty......

I can't resist making it another pt.

Here's my story on this subject - what i really want is a mbuna biotope tank - rocks + sands. but after discusing it with the wife i realize there is no much space for a 50g biotope in our house. plus, maintenance gonna be a headache since it's a mbuna biotope and there are no plants so ammonia is gonna hike real fast with cichlids in there making a mess of everything.

so i thought i combine my biotope fascination with pt to create a rocky+sandy planted tank in the small 5.5g tank.

Though I am thinking what flora to put in that is super hardy and non demanding (it will be low tech). I have no plan to put fauna in there yet. but suggestions are welcomed (i don't want shrimps bcause I can't take care of them enough).

Thanks!

Java ferns, small anubias, and mosses will all do well in low tech nano, and all can be attached to rocks and driftwood (or whatever hardscape you use) so you can have plants anywhere at any level of the tank.

A 5.5g would make a great home for a betta

Java fern, probably ok. but I don't want the same plants with my other tank. should've said earlier. i already have anubias in my 12.5g, and java moss in my 3.5g betta tank. and i don't want a betta since already got one as well.

Marbled crayfish. Many of them live in rocky streams in nature.
