Additives and CRS?

If my water is already @ 7.1pH do I need the minerals that I am seeing being sold? What do these minerals do? Are they needed for keeping CRS, or can I just take care of them same as my RCS?

I'm sure it will get moved by a mod. No worries though.

A pH of 7.1 should have Plenty of minerals in it but it may be a bit high for some of the higher grade/more fragile CRS.

Is that your tap reading and if not how are you getting a reading of 7.1?
