Liquid Fert stock in old Pepsi Bottles

I made up another batch of liquid stock yesterday, but decided a bottle which seals would be better than my leaky tupperware containers. I rinsed and rinsed a diet pepsi soda bottle until there was no smell, residue, or taste left, then put the fert solution in. This morning when I opened it up it smelled like pepsi again.... Anyone have any concerns about this? I know straight pepsi would be detrimental to a tank, but how about this? I dont know if its just the plastic that smells, but its odd that it didnt last night, and now it does.
If you think this is a bad idea, could I just pour the liquid into a new container, or will I need to throw it all away? :/
Thanks!
Matt

It'll be fine. If you didn't add some excel to your micro, do so. A 2 liter stock of it can go bad quickly if it doesn't have a preservative.

Thanks Justin, I only made up 300 mL, dosing 3ml 3x a week in my 10g and 9 mL 3x a week in my 30g. That would be enough stock for about 8 weeks. Think it will go bad even if I refrigerated it? I only ask because I do not have any excel to use.

I use empty Excel and Prime 500ml bottles to store my liquid pre-mixed fertz. One is at room temp, the rest are in a fridge. My thinking being if the original content was designed for aquarium use, it's good enough for me.

Excel is light sensitive, so if it's a clear bottle you might have issues.

I mix and store in vitamin water plastic bottles stored in the dark
+1 to adding excel or metricide as a bit of a preservative

I have experienced No problems and have been doing this for a couple of years
