best adhesive?

Hi can anyone tell me the in their opinion the best adhesive to use for sticking slate from roof tiles (flat and light)to the back of the glass to give a rocky 3d background? Silicone was suggested but not sure what type.

Cheers

Silicone will work just fine, but do make sure it's aquarium grade. Much that is made for bathroom use contain mold and mildew inhibitors, which is something you do not want in an aquarium.

I think generally the stuff made for doors and windows does NOT have the mildew inhibitors. It will say if it does have it. Just make sure it's 100% silicon.

I've been out of the hobby a bit, so I'm not altogether up to date, but from what I've seen, the advice seems pretty similar.

avoid bathroom stuff/mildew resistant stuff like the plague. generally, the old GE(?) silicone I (100%)clear door and window seems to be used pretty frequently. check the label, if it states it's okay to use on food surfaces, it's likely (but not always) to be safe for aquariums.

also, I've recently heard of people using gorillaglue. I think it's a polyurethane adhesive. might be worth looking into.

Plain old non toxic silicone from the hardware store. The color doesn't matter either.
