I am a new user here as I found out about this site through a friend.

My question is, can anyone please instruct me on using PP?

Ok, I don't have a gram scale, I just want to know if possible the common terminology as to how many teaspoons of crystals per liter of water. Then, how many drops per gallon of water. Simple terms (I hope, Lol).

Then my follow up question would be, in using this in a planted tank, how long to leave it in for and how much water (in percentages) to change after the duration of adding PP?

I want to use it for disinfecting new plants and, I have a few rams that are getting dark and not eating. I was told PP would help.

Again, break it down in teaspoons and drops per gallon please.

You're suspecting Trichodina? So, are all the Rams affected, or only some?

Potassium permanganate in crystalline form is quite dangerous. The Skeptical Aquarist has an article on potassium permanganate, with links to further Internet sites.

Don't use more than will color the water light pink. Time the change to amber.
