Cheap black background ideas

I currently have a background that has plants on it, but want to try a black background. I once tried black construction paper and didn't like the way it looked. I know I could paint it or use that car tinting stuff. I'd like to try something quick and easy first. Has anyone used black trash bags with good results? Thanks.....

Yes I've actually used black garage bags for years. It works but I do think you'd have better results with fabric as a matter of fact I think ill give it a try!

you could go to a sign shop and have them cut you some black vinal, its nice because it sticks to the glass with no adhesives

Krylon fusion black spray paint. About $3-4 at your local Walmart. Can also be found at an auto or crafts store. Dries in about 10 minutes and 2 coats is all you need.

Cool, thanks for the ideas - I'll try fabric first since I have plenty of that hanging around!

seconding the spraypaint. I think this look is really hard to beat - vinyl might give the same look if done properly.

Does Krylon fusion black spray paint peel off the glass if you didn't like it?

Yes it will peel off with a razor blade, but I highly doubt you won't like it.

Yeah ... are the .99/ft ones not considered cheap? It seems too obvious to suggest those..

You have too remember that anything other than painting it like i did with krylon fushion will allow water too come between ( material used ) and glass. Thus giving a bubbled affect.

Walmart black vinyl window tint worked for me. Maybe $10 isn't cheap, but reusable and easy were worth an extra couple bucks. Way easier to get off then paint. Maybe not as easy as fabric, haven't tried that route.
