I would say yes. 2-4 is plenty in a planted tank.

if your tank is 1 gallon, no. If it is 100 gallon, yes. If fish can't swim against the current of the output of the filter, your flow rate is probably too much.

lol i have not purchased the filters yet but is 2 eheim 2260s way too much for a 110 gallon tank? i love over filtering my tank~
