leaf color differentiation

So.. everytime I get a new plant , all the new leaves grow in a very limish bright green color instead of the deeper green from the petstore/website.

Im wondering if theres a particular nutrient missing perhaps? or what?

I have some PMDD premix but im kind of paranoid about using it cause Im horrible at figuring out how much to put in. I have c02, thats about it, and does flourish.

it happens in every aqaurium I have

30g standard with 90w flourescent over it
a 55 with 110 w CF over it
and a 10 with 26 w CF over it

the guy at the local store uses a K additive and thats all, with like half RO water ( which is what I recently started doing (the 1/2 RO part))
so the lack of K sounds viable, I may try that .... but it just seems like somethings missing.. cause my stuff grows very slow as well..

this problem seems like the 1 obstacle left in having excellent planted aquariums like some of yours - lets see what I can do with your help =0

Are you getting the emmersed to submersed transition? Most plants are grown in greenhouses above water and those leaves rot and are replaced by growth that can be quite different?

Moved to Tucson.
