Loosing my battles with GW

Ive had GW ever since my plants came in and I started to run on both 65W CF. I have a heavily planted 29gal with 2x65 on for 10hrs a day. GW just keeps coming back. I have done 2 blackouts so far and its gotten rid of it both times. But GW always comes back within a week or so. any other suggestions?

You need to dose NO3 and PO4 regularly to keep them from running out. Have you been doing that? I would turn off one of 65w lights until the tank balance out more.

40w T6 ODNO4x, no CO2. Discus grow out.

I will do aquascapes after I collect all the plant species and grow them to perfection.

You don't mention CO2. I don't know if that could be a contributing factor to GW, but that's an awful lot of light if you aren't adding CO2.

ScottyDont, it's green water algae.

Sadly, I am very familiar with the evil GW, at one point I could only see about 1 inch into my tank. I went a very drastic route and completly drained the tank and scrubbed it, I also had really bad hair algae. so far it has not come back but I also added a large peice of Oak to the tank that is leaching tannin dont know if that is keeping it at bay or not but it looks a lot better than GW.

Good luck
