scored a 50G tank tonight :D

::begin_rant::

Woohoo!

I think it's a Truvu tank with built-in wet-n-dry on the back.
It came with extras like fluidized bed filter, heater, lights & hood..
Freebie = cost nothing, Zero, Zip, Nada!

Now to find me a stand...
and search the planted tank forum for acrylic safe mineral deposit cleaning solution

Wow that beats the deal a friend of mine had for his 55 gal. Tank hood and stand for a case of beer

Nice!!

that beats my 90 gallon that I got for free, just the tank. Good work I am envious!

I am going to build a stand for my sisters 55, if you like I can send you the plans or ther are a lot in the DIY section

Saving all that money just Justifies buying the toys for it now, it would be wrong not to get them. . . .wouldnt it???

Great!!
I get a 55 gallon tank with two Emperor 400, one Emperor 280, one Powerhead 802 and one 402 both with the quick filter attachment. The guy got them on a storage space and wants to make some room. Then about 5 months later he offered me a 100 Gallon tank!!! but my wife doesnít like the idea , when finally I convince her. I was late; he gave the tank to another friend . Also most of my plant comes from another friend that was quitting from keeping aquariums do to health problems. Thanks to them !!

yeah, I blew my chance last year (a 150gallon plexi was given to me, silly me - kindly refused it)
I think I can get a nice oak stand for $30 tomorrow so I'm not going DIY this time (did a DIY hood with my 1st 55gallon)

I agree, free tank will only make way for more equipments in the future

Big Al's sells those "stingray" stands, they are rather inexpencive, come in a vatiety of colors, easy to assemble and look pretty decent. You may want to look into that.

Yup, I have the 36X18 stingray stand and it is excellent. Very sturdy, and the cabinet fit my eheim proII canister. The only problem I have with it is that it is constructed of mdf and not wood.

scored a genuine oak stand tonight for $30
very nice, clean & heavy.
it's even nicer than the one I already have for my other 55 gallon (MDF, painted black)

Thanks for the stingray link, I'll keep it in mind in case I ever need to buy a new one
