Dark branchy driftwood?

What's a finely branching, DARK aquarium-safe driftwood? Something that looks like manzanita but isn't light-colored when the bark is removed?

Even my very pale sycamore twigs turned dark in time, they are the same color as the manzanita now. If you wanted pale wood you would be in trouble, all wood gets dark underwater if submerged long enough as far as I know.

+1 to kathyy.

I've bought and found many dry pieces of wood that were very light in color. Some time in the tank, they will go dark.

How long does it usually take? I have a large piece of manzanita that I've had for about 4 months now and the light parts are just as blonde as they ever were.
