Does my water look cloudy?

Is it me or does my water look cloudy? I see people with these pristine water tanks... I just wish I could get mine to look like that!

It's a little hard to tell due to the blueness

Thats the other thing I am wondering is if the blue is causing it to appear that way some?

What lights are you running? Anything above 6500k looks blueish to me. So tough to tell via a picture though...my camera never captures what my tanks actually look like.

Hard to tell from the pic.

If you think it is cloudy you should try some Purigen. It should help emensely.
it makes my water crystal clean.

glass could be cloudy/.. AND a lot of light can make it look cloudy.. lower light levels give u a more pristine look.. clean the glass. change 30-50% water one ur maintenance day and see what happens

I usually change 50% every sunday/saturday, I will give the glass a good scrub down too.

Can you take a picture of the tank the long way (looking from one side to the other). This might highlight what you are talking about.

A few things that might help are carbon (gasp), more filtration, and UV sterilization. Also, the tank has not been up that long, so you might just consider giving it more time.

The (gasp) was because most people in the planted tank world go apey if anyone mentions carbon filtration.

This. If the tank wasn't properly cycled, this could be a bacterial bloom accompanied by a nitrite spike.

Ohhh lol. uhm... I do run carbon my filter.. Thats a no no?o.O

not a cycling problem, filter that is being used came from an established tank, and I ran it for a couple weeks before I replaced any media
