What plant is this?

Hello, new to the forum.

I got the first plants for my 10 gal. I have a 15w light and chose two plants listed as low light requirement- anubias and java fern.

The guy at the LFS recommended this plant as well, which he couldn't identify as anything other than a "bulb plant".

After looking online I think it is an aponogeton. The leaves are not identical to madagascar lace but they have he same veining. Any thoughts, experts?

Also-
I have the java fern on a lace rock and the anubias will probably do the same (it is still in the container it came in). Both are recommended to NOT place the rhizome in the substrate.

Does the same go for the "mystery plant" or can it stay in the sand (as I now have it)?

Hopefully the attached photo comes through.

Its some sort of bulb plant. Im guessing iron deficit barclaya longifolia that was previously in taller tank that someone may have brought in. Doesnt look green enough to be aaponogeton ulvaceus. You should keep it planted.
