can u break a tank from to much weight?

can u break a tank from to much weight? if i take my 30 gallon tank cover the bottem with about an inch of sand and just stack as many rocks as i can fit then fill it with water will the bottem crack or would the sides split. i plan on stacking pretty thin flat slate rocks 2-3 levels high and im just kinda paranoid about how much weight is on glass the tank is only about 18 inchs high maybe

nothing here but disappointment

I'm pretty sure you will be okay. There was a video going around on here where someone stacked rocks up in a tank, then stood on it to show how strong the bottom of a tank really is. This was all done in a 20g tank I believe, so I think it's safe to tell you to go right ahead.

Check this video out.

Surprising how much weight the standard glass aquarium can handle.
