New setup and leaves all over the tank

My new planted tank is about 7 days old. Plant leaves are floating around all over the tank, I keep pulling them out, but seems like more the next day. Is this normal for new setup, or is this just normal with a planted tank?

My tank is 90 G and my filter is a sump, the sump does not seem to pick up the leaves

This is normal for planted tanks I regularly pull clumps of leaves off of my circulation pump.

Are the plants uprooting or are the leaves actually coming off the plants? If they are coming off the plants then the plant might just be transitioning to you tank possibly because the plant was grown out of water. I would not say it was normal for an established tank though. At least I have never had the problem.

Some plants 'melt' if the new situation isn't absolutely perfect for that plant. Sometimes the melting is very literal - see the goo that melted crypt and lily leaves can make. Sometimes the melting is more like the leaves are cooked and sometimes leaves just fall off.

In my case I got a monster meltdown of most of the species in the tank when I set it up as my CO2 ran out just as I planted the tank. Bacopa and narrow leaved ferns didn't melt but Anubias nana and Staruogyne repens were badly shocked to my surprise. Stauro looked cooked and off came the leaves.

Now Stauro will melt if nitrate isn't to its liking but other than that I don't get many leaves floating around. Stray hairgrass leaves, broken C. balansae leaves and that is about it. Mostly old leaves get trimmed during tank maintenance or snails and otos eat the decaying leaves before they actually fall off. At the moment I don't see any leaves at the overflow box and it has been 4 days since I fussed with the tank.
