fish disappeared for real?

I have a lot fish, all tropical fish about the size of molly and 1 angel fish.

I notice that the number of fish is reduce one day. So, I keep track of them.

Within 3 days, 4 mollies and the only angel fish gone. There is no trace of them jumping out of the tank. The tank is covered like 95%.

I checked the tank very carefully for 30 minutes, there no single sign of them. If they are being eaten, I would see their bone. It impossible to be in the filter because I use Canister Filter and the input is cover with a mesh.

So, what could be happening here? fish have the magical ability to disappear at will ? =)))

Any decorations in the tank that may have openings? I once had a rock structure with a hole for an airstone and our betta would hide in there.

Very strange... Other then jumping out of the tank, or maybe getting sucked up into the filter (which have both been ruled out) I am not sure what to say. Tear everything apart and see if you can find corpses?

I had a cory that jumped(?)...maybe, out my tank and never found the body. I do have two dogs and I'm pretty sure that they ate him. I tore that tank up to find the body but no body.
Do you like to eat sushi?

nah, not sure where they are, I took out all the plants( heavy planted) out and replant. But never found any bone left. I have no other stuff beside the plants and 2 rocks.

So here is the answer: Fish have the magical ability to disappear at will

It's happened to me many many times. I have lots of plecos and bottom feeders which, given a day or two, can finish off a body. A 2-3 day old body can be sucked into a filter once is softens up too.

I've also been convinced a fish is gone/dead/abducted just to see it one day months later.
