Should I use excel and CO2 together?

Hi,

I recently got a paintball co2 system set up and I was wondering if I should or shouldn't keep dosing flourish excel. Before getting the paintball setup, I dosed excel daily at the recommend dosage, but now I am not sure if I should keep doing that? Would there be a benefit to dosing the excel along with the co2? would there be a negative aspect?

thanks

Oh and my tank is an 11.4 gallon mr aqua with 36 watt pc lighting

I had the same question. For five years I've been using both and just stopped the excel when I switched to led lighting (I know the lighting is unrelated) and noticed an upset in the tank. Less plant growth and a sudden algae bloom. Don't know if this is related to lighting or lack of excel.

I use both, but I use the excel more as an algaecide then as source of CO2.

There is no need to use both of them. Actual co2 is better than excel and an be processed much easier by plants. It is just adding another chemical to the tank.

Use both if there is algea bloom, I dose daily with excel but only because I have a very low supply of co2 and I'm trying to get rid of new tank algea, look into dry deets, they will save you money
