Yeah, a user named bsmith sells some really good looking food. He sells a lot of different kinds and seems VERY knowledgable. I would shoot him with a PM asking your questions....

I think Ken's foods are excellent. I've used a variety, and been very satisfied.

Golden Pearls are primarily for fry and smaller fish. For example, I feed the 50 micron variety to cory and celestial pearl danio fry; I feed the 250 micron variety to larger fry and to adults cpds. It's great stuff. I take a pinch and put in a small bottle of dechlorinated water, put the bottle in the refrigerator, and put a dropperful in twice a day or more.

+1 on BSmith. I just ordered myself.

You will mostly likely end up making your own food. For cichlids I would cut up beef heart into tennis ball sized pcs. Then use a cheese grater to shave off small pcs. There are lots of recipes for frozen fresh fish food. I never bother cooking food as I freeze it hard enough to kill anything harmful. Cooking always depletes so nutritional value.

Many use gelatin in the mix, I never bothered with that either. My best tip is keep a plastic container in your freezer every time you but seafood for yourself, put a small pc in the box. Then you'll have a great verity when you make up a batch.
