Question Blanching food for otto's

hi i have tried to get my ottos to eat fresh zuchini nd cucumber for a while now
they simply wont touch it, only my shrimp seem interested. i wonder if i am preparing it right.
i boil the kettle and drop a thin slice into a cup and pour the kettle over it, let i sit in there for about a minuite or two and then drop into a second cup i prepared with icy water in, let it cool and drop in tank

what ive read on the internet mostly contradicts its self, some people say ten secconds some say boil for 5 to ten minutes,
someone out there must know what otto's like

thanks

i cut my slices into about 1/3 - 1/4 of an inch thick slice, then quarter it.. i boil water, drop them in for 20 seconds. then icy water them.. i pulled mine out with tweezers. my oto's touch it by day 2

I nuke slices of zucchini in water in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes and then run it under cold water for a bit to cool it down. Otos and snails are all over it within 1 minute of it hitting the bottom.

Takes my otos 2 or 3 days to recognize veggies as food. I blanch them just enough to get bright color but not get mushy, or else it doesn't hold up long enough and chunks of rotting veggie gets lost in the tank.

Zucchini works better than cucumber (imo).
Core the seeds out of it and if you buy organically grown leave the skin on it.
If you do not blanch it then they will work on it for days before it turns to mush in the tank. Blanch it and 24hrs later it starts making a mess.
Romaine Lettuce Hearts work well for Ancistrus and Otto alike.
Day old raw zucchini or lettuce here before they will even start to touch it.

I just slice it and put it in the tank without blanching it. Otos, pleco, guppies, mollys and snails all pick at it.
