help

need advice: here's my problem I have a dwarf gourami and it keeps swimming up and down and from right to left along the sides of my tank. it only stops at feeding time(buts dose not come to the surface to eat, with the rest) and when the lights go out for the night.

it in a 10 gallon fish tank.
tank mates are 1 albino Cory catfish, 3 glofish, 2 mollies(1 inch apiece), 2 platys. every one gets along perfectly.

but my real concern is cause the dwarf gourami spend bout 90% of its time doing this and some times my Cory catfish will join in

Well, first your tank is massively overstocked. And you are keeping a mix of tropical and cold water fish in the same tank.

Have you tested your water? Gold fish are very dirty fish and I wouldn't be suprised if your Ammonia or Nitrites are very high.

First thing we need to know though is the water parameters.

to add, my cousin has a dwarf gourami that did the same thing when he got an ammonia spike (didn't listen to me). Once he started doing daily water changes to get the cycle under control and the ammonia down everything was fine.

My Tanks
75 Gallon Planted Community Tank

Also run an LFS so I deal w/ over 30 tanks daily.

When was the tank setup and how much of the water do you change? When did you get this gourami? Any other relevant info would be good.

My fish do that because they see their reflections in the glass and for the most part it's my bettas and my cories that do it.

FYI you might want to get a few more cories as they prefer to be in groups. Even 2 more would probably make your albino a happy camper.

The only way to bring down nitrates is to do water changes. Adding more plant material can help but if the levels are high then do water changes to keep them in check.

How do you know he's happy, lol? Did he tell ya? Cories are schooling fish and schooling fish should be kept in groups, regardless of what your fish may or may not have told you.

Well like I said it's probably chasing his reflection in the glass.
