Black or Clear Silicone?

So right now I'm looking for a 125i+ gallon . Right now I've come down to some similar tanks. The main difference is their silicone (other than the 2 inch difference).

The 125 (72x18x22) I'm looking at has clear/bluish silicone.

On the other hand, the 135 (72x18x24) has black silicone.

So as the title of the thread goes, "Black or Clear Sillicone?"

I picked up a 20L a few weeks ago with the black and I like the look of it, makes it look more framed in. The clear since its not fully clear and not a rimless/edgeless tank, you can see it anyways.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

well, since they both do the job equally well it just comes down to personal preference. I like the black silicon look but if it's applied too wide I'd trim it down but this usually isn't neccessary.

The clear silicon is usually put on more liberally.

But to keep in the spirit of the thread... I'd go with the black because I don't mind the black and it's a larger tank!!

Black won't show any dirt or algae that gets behind the silicone, so black if it's done neatly.

I have always owned clear, but just recently bought a black silicon 55 gallon, and love it! I cannot wait to set it up!

My past tanks have always been clear silicone, but I bought a new 30G last fall and went with the black silicone. I think it looks really nice.

I wish I had used black silicone on my 250 plywood tank! Rookie mistake to use clear.

(Just another vote for black silicone)
