feeding rings?

Anyone use one?

No one at the lfs uses them but of course they'd be happy to sell me one.

I was hoping to get the fish Acclimated to feeding from one. I feed mostly flake and in the flurry of rainbows and rasboras smashing and grabbing it, a lot gets mixed with floating plants, then just ends up in the stem plants and makes for extra maintenance.

I also want to give the auto feeder another shot and was hoping this would give it a basket to shoot for that the fish can check out so as to not be unaware of food.

I have one, and use it. Although it really does not good lol. as soon as my pig of a GBR and Gourami get to the ring, they pull everything into the water, and food goes everywhere anyway. for frozen foods I just randomly drop some in the water so they can "hunt" it.

I made one out of extra airline tubing and a connector, but it become pointless as soon as the boisterous fish started feeding. Not really worth it...

I've also really had no luck with these. I've used in the past but find that as soon as the feeding starts the food starts going in all directions anyway. I would save the couple of $s as I don't think it's worth your time.
