Dark or Light substrate for a new tank...

I'm all about the polls tonight it seems..

I picked up an eclipse 12 system off craigslist last night and am planning on making a "lucky bamboo" forest out of it, with a staurogyne carpet. won't have pressurized CO2. I know the bamboo will be fine w/o it, thinking the stauro will be too.

anyway, i'm having a hard time visualizing this with a black substrate vs a white substrate. I'm thinking the light color would be more zen...thoughts?

I usually like the look of dark substrates. IMO, light looks great when used to highlight certain areas.

Dark's good in bringing out colours, the same as when you have a dark backdrop.

I think a dark (black) substrate looks good and also make fish feel at ease and hidden, JMO. Beside white shows every leaf and all the fish poo, yummy!!!!!
