Pool Filter Sand questions.

What's up guys, I recently moved to PFS going from eco complete, why? because I accidentally mixed eco complete with some ugly @ss substrate... everything was fine until I had to move and everything got mixed up.. giving me some funky colors

Anyways, my question for people who have used PFS, are your plants growing well? something I'm experiencing at the moment is my sagittaria is dying. It was doing perfect in my eco complete.. I did use root tabs on the PFS.

My other plants seem to be doing fine, some are melting due to being new in my tank no biggie.

Anyone using PFS see any different results than using "plant" substrate? thanks!

Give the plants a little time to become established in the PFS, Oscar.
If you're in a low tech set-up without CO2, but you're using root fert tabs, along with regular dosing with other ferts like Flourish Excel and Comprehensive Supplement, your plants should begin to develop when you give them a little time.
Don't know how long it's been since you removed your eco-complete and introduced PFS, but it doesn't sound like more than a short time ago.
I have a med. planted tank in PFS - (about a year now) - plants growing very well with a fert routine like I mentioned earlier.
Have a look: (Pics taken about 4 months ago - but looks much better now).

Thanks Paul, I'm running pressurize co2/EI dosing/high light. Your right I've been only running the PFS for about 1 week lol. I guess I should be a little more patient.

Yeah, Oscar - give it 3-4 more weeks and I'm sure you'll see a big positive difference.
