i do weekly WC at 60-75%. not sure about the parameters exactly, but it's been like this for a week + and the fish all seem to be fine really. the harlequins are a little concerning cuz they're such pigs that i've to take extra care to make sure the other fish get food.

i picked up a eclipse 12 yesterday...might move half of them in there instead

I dont think it's that bad. My 20G was heavily planted with about 35 fish and did fine. Just keep up with the water changes.

^ that's what i've been thinking, glad to hear it from others though.

kevmo - nifty calculator. says i'm 104% stocked :P i had to rough it on the plecos and apistos though cuz they're juvies and not adults. still, i might move the harlequins anyway per my concern re: feeding.

It's a beautiful tank and with that load you may not have to dose much fert, but I also think its full. My 150 on has 39 fish at a stock density of 0.39 inches per gallon and I will add some more but I don't want it to be loaded.

just about all my fish are small though. the betta is the biggest thing in there...with a 150...i'd go crazy with tetras i think :P

oh, and thanks for the compliment! i've got 3 large lotus plants that should arrive tomorrow that's going to go in on the left side of the tank which is a little sparse right now.

It's a little bit on the heavy side, but with regular water changes of that size you've absolutely nothing to worry about. Generally if a tank is overstocked, it will LOOK overstocked.

Lovely tank btw

I used to have a really stocked tank and when I kept up with it everything was fine. I let it go for a little bit and there were major problems. Just make sure to up mechanical and bio filtration and you should be good along with regular water changes.

And I also wanted to say beautiful tank!

thanks everyone!

Gotcha - the tank is 30"x18"x24"

NavemadaMan - running a G6 which is rated for 160G and I change out the chemical and mechanical every other week. still figuring out how often i should change out the biological media though.

How are the green neons doing? I was considering them to stock my 75G but sounded like they needed very low PH levels and that they were pretty sensitive. Any idea what your PH is?

Your tank looks fantastic btw....

I've got some green neons also, super nice fish. I like them better than neons or cards.
