Is old amazonia that completely dried out still ok?

I had some amazonia in a tank that I basically let the water evaporate out(neglected due to time constraints). Is this still okay to use? It was making some crazy noises when I added water back to it and its pretttty cloudy(read white cloud not coffee).

Any help would be appreciated

I've done it before. Just do a couple water changes and run filtration before introducing anything live. If you have a skimmer, use it.
