Want to take the co2 plunge... But don't know how?

Ok, so I've decided to add co2 to my 55g but i only have a rough idea of what I need....
I have managed to get a twin gauge brass regulator for my bottled gas supplier at work ( I run a bar) and have access to food grade co2, so I think that I'm going in the right direction...
What I need to know: is a solenoid valve, diffuser, piping and drop checker everything else I need???
Is food grade co2 ok?

Thanks again for all your advise

Just to add.. I only have 2wpg with t5 lighting, with I really see a dramatic difference with co2 or is my lighting going to restrict how much difference it makes...?

The reason I am looking at co2 is because my sunset hygro is very leggy with horizontal growth, my HC is yellowing and dwarf hair grass is browning on the tips. HC and grass are very new to the tank....
Thanks

I dont think there's much of a difference between your food grade and "planted tank" grade. At least difference that matter compare to say medical grade.

Someone said that HC need light more than CO2. Certainly it doesnt kill to have both.

I disagree on the HC comment. I grew HC under really low light with high co2 and it grew great.

A good quality check valve and needle valve are the only things i think you missed out on your list.

inert black sand. Dave and I measure the par and I was able to grow it with 30 par and dosing my water column with EI fertz.

Ah. I tried something similar but with standard gravel.

Fail.

Most plants grow very well with low light and CO2. It's probably the most problem-free way to grow them, in fact.
