So Addicted ....

I must have gone off the deep end with this hobby (as I so often do with my hobbies). Maybe not as bad as some other people however in the span of 3-4 months ive bought/setup 4 tanks. 1.5G, 5G, 10G, 20G. All in my bedroom lol.

So who else is hopelessly addicted?

I'm pretty addicted, sadly. I have only set up one tank but have spent over $750 dollars on it already. What started out as a low-tech guppy tank has quickly evolved into a high-tech, densley planted soon-to-be Scarlet Badis tank.

Count me in... started with a $3.95 Betta for my daughter from walmart. Now in 5 weeks time, I have a 5 gallon for my betta and a 75 gallon... fully stocked and will be changing out the starter plants next week with a plant package I bought from another member... HELP!

I know, lol.

I've spent all that money on a 7 gallon tank, which seems crazy. It's worth it, though. (I think ;p)

I just don't understand how someone could spend $800 on a tank. I am extremely addicted as well but have only spent around $300 for everything.

CO2 Paintball Setup- $60
Sun Sun Canister Filter- $40
Odyssea T5HO Lighting- $40
29 Gallon Tank- $30
DIY Stand- $25
DIY CO2 Reactor- $20
Plants- $125
Livestock- $30

$270 Total! I cant even see where I could have gone more high tech other then a true CO2 Regulator. I think some people get to caught up in the whole name brand thing. I don't see the purpose in getting anything ADA unless money just burns a hole in your pocket in which case you should send it my way.

Did you get the largest Sun Sun Filter? Is it not way to much flow? Or do your fish just love surfing, hah. Also did you go with the 4 bulb T5HO? I was told it would be way to much lighting have you noticed any issues?

i got the 302 originally but im getting the 404b soon, the flow wasnt too much at all, more like not enough with all these stems in here :p

i did also get the 4 bulb odyssea fixture and it sits right on the tank. i swapped the bulbs for 2 florasun/ultrasun combos and i staggered the lights so the ballasts fire bulbs 1 and 3 and 2 and 4 respectively. i dont run all 4 bulbs but for maybe 4hours out of my 13hr photoperiod, mainly to help with the s. repens and h. tenellum sitting in the shade under my stems. 2hrs in the morning and 2 in the evening under full burst, the rest is yeah, just two bulbs.. the spread really helps tho.

You can easily spend that just on a tank and stand. Just a tank if you buy some gigantic vessel.
