Iron fertiliser, recommendation?

Hi, just a quickie... I need to put some iron in my tank for my crystalwart and particularly my rotala wallichii. There seems to be many different types etc
Can anyone offer up any suggestions/ brands?? Thanks

I do ada iron bottoms only. ECA is another option or dry fert.

Seachem Flourish Iron is what I use, supplemented by some DTPA since my water is fairly hard. Seems to do the trick.

yeah, i seems like i also have pretty hard water, i havent tested it yet but the only things i have seen in the LFS says it is not safe for plants??
ideas?? what is DTPA?

Only if there is an iron deficiency in your tank, and everything else is good. There can be many reasons why java fern is not green.

What do you mean by "only things i have seen in the LFS says it is not safe for plants??" You are looking for some sort of fertilizer for a planted tank, correct?

DTPA is just another one of those powders. It's a chelator that keeps iron in plant-friendly solution, and fares better in hard water than say EDTA.
