Filter media

Hi there just currently planning a set up. I have a 125l tank and an oase external filter (oversized). As I don’t have a water softener would any one recommend me using peat in my filter instead of active carbon?

Thanks f

Is your water particularly hard? You don't absolutely need to have peat, unless there is some specific reason you would like to use it.

As for activated carbon ("charcoal"), it is not necessary to use it in a planted aquarium, under normal circumstances.
