Anyone tell me what this is?

Just saw this when I turned the light on for a water change. Anyone know what it is? I have some amano shrimp but don’t think that is one

Dragonfly larvae, get it out ASAP

At least I can grow Algae

Thank you! I will try to bet it but it’s heavily planted and not sure if I can get it. Do you know if their is typically more if one is there? Thanks!

It is a Damselfly and if you have really small shrimp or fish or snails they will eat them. However they are pretty slow swimmers so anything fast moving they are not going to catch. I just had a similar experience but all I had in the tank besides plants were bladder snails so I let the little guy alone. They a pretty cool to watch grow if you can let them. You are correct, that was my mistake. This is a damselfly nymph. Regardless they are still predatorial and will hunt in the aquarium. Here is a helpful link
