Hard water, brown hairy clouds...new tank struggle

Going on 1 month into a new planted tank. Have 3 endler guppies and 19 RCS. Lifted the light from about 3 inches to 10 or so inches above the water after ive been battling brown stringy cloudy stuff...from what i read its some kind of bacterial thing... ill post my levels before a 25% water change, kh and gh are sky high since im on a well. Any suggestions to clear things up? I do see new growth on all my plants also

A month old tank is gonna halve algae regardless. It takes at least two months for things to stabilize.

Don't be afraid to get in there with your hands and a toothbrush to clean up and remove as much of the algae as possible before your water changes.

FWIW I wasn't doing proper water changes when I first started my tank either.

It wasn't until I actually did the recommended 50% water changes weekly that things cleared up for me. Even with little to no fish in the tank, the algae loved the imbalances.

Once the water changes and my dosing regiments were stabilized and done regularly my algae is minimal.

I am an equipment and tool junkie. I try to keep it simple but.........
