Detritus Worm explosion related to cycling stage?

Hi all!

So last night before heading into work I did a big 75% water change on my 5 gallon, soil substrate, planted tank that has only plants, bladder snails, and MTS (image attached).

When I came home this morning I was looking into the tank and noticed it was filled with what I originally thought were tiny threads floating through the water, but a google search quickly made me realize it was detritus worms (or so I believe - image attached) and they were also crawling all over the walls.

I am wondering if this might have to do with the water change or the fact that I am in the middle of my N cycle (NH4 reducing and NO2 rising, no NO3 as of yet - see attached graph).

Just curious if you all have seen this and what your thoughts are as to the possible cause.

There are all kinds of micro detritus particles floating around your tank coming from soil. They are just organic particles that will stick to biofilm growing in tank, thats what they feed on. Nothing to worry about they will probably be gone within a week of adding fish, free food.
