Its not algae its a liverwort, which is related to moss but not a moss. Anyway I would quarantine not dip.

Pelia and Subwassertang are both "Ferns", but in an unusual way they only have a thallus or leaf structure.

And that leaf structure is one cell width thick, so any treatment with a powerful oxidizer like Potassium Permangenate is surely going to kill the plant, if not near instantly.

Starting small, keeping it simple..(?)

Very weird I never knew this was a fern though I see the resemblance to the fleshy bolbitis leaves. So QT will help with parasites etc bt what about possible pondsnails? Just manual removal?

Yep - quarantine and manual removal of snails! My tanks are all snail free using that method and it's certainly not because none of the incoming plants had snails.

If this is going in a shrimp only tank I'd leave the bladder snails on the Pelia. Snails help kickstart the cycle in the tank, and snails leave behind droppings and slime trails that grow biofilm shrimp need to live on.

The only time you have snail population explosions is when you overfeed, and a shrimp tank, especially one where you're not growing them to breed, is better left underfed.
