ATO with dosing container

I am trying to figure out what to do when I go on vacation. I am dosing daily and using the EI method. If I added an all in one product to a larger dosing container and mixed with water, would the fertilizer stay well mixed or would it desperate from the water?

I use around 10 ml of an all in one product per day, and I evaporate around .25 gallons of water per day. So if I were to go on vacation and need a weeks with, I would have 70 ml of fertilizer plus 1.75 gallons of water.

Doesn’t anyone else do this? Or do most people have a separate ato for just water?

I think most people either use an auto doser or just frontload their ferts when doing a vacation. Unless you are going to be away for more then 2 weeks it won't be an issue. After 2 weeks you are going to start running into algae issues for not having a water change.

Thanks for your reply.
So you are saying most people just dose a bunch of fertilizer at one time before they leave?
I could always add a small pump in the ato container to keep the water and fertilizer moving so that the fertilizer doesn’t separate from the water.

I have never tried it but I would be surprised if the ferts separate out. I just think you are over thinking it.

I love ATO's. I use kalkwasser on my marine tank and that's supposed to settle out to a degree but one thing you could possibly do is add a small pump to your ATO reservoir and put it on a timer to run for a few minutes a few times per day.

Note I'm saying this not knowing much about your additives if they even fall out of suspension. Good luck!

Depending on the tank and how things are going you may also turn down the lights and so there is less needs for ferts

The worst thing to happen would be for you to come back to a problem tank but if the lights are lowered for 2 weeks there is less chance of algae. just less growth.
