I honestly dont know too too much about saltwater aquariums though I have maintained aquascapes for the past decade. I may not be the best person for advise but hopefully this post could offer some inspiration.

Just a shell though. My tank doesn't have deep enough sand for a live one

Very interesting. What sort of changes have you implemented or noticed over the six months?

I started with a lot of aireation thinking it would be necessary for maintaining the co2/o2 equilibrium but I was wrong. The tank has gone weeks without bubbles! Haha.

Also, the Green Crab pictured is quickly growing. It started off with half its legs missing but now that they have regenerated (unexpected at the time). Now he has eaten a few snails and killed all of the hermit crabs. Oops.

Your right! It's a macroalgae (seaweed). I am 80% sure it is Ulva lactuca (sea lettuce).

Thank you! I'm surprised there isn't much saltwater (is there any?) in the forum here.

No, I dont think there is any saltwater, but that does not mean we dont want to see your posts. I found it very interesting and hope you keep providing updates.

Next thing you know you are going to have full blown SPS reef tanks! That's the way saltwater works. Just get your wallet ready. It's kind of shocking the amount of money you can spend VERY quickly in that hobby.
