I hear programs like Microsoft Office and Open Office can be used to create databases in which you can categorize things in any way that you'd like.
For instance, once finished, you'd be able to click on "Low Light" to find all the plants that only do well in low light, etc, so I wondering if anything of the sort exists already, or if doesn't, how would you all like to have the plants categorized? Here's what I think...
Region of Country
Low to Medium
Medium to High
Low to High (does well in any light)
Of course, many plants would end up being found in many of the categories, like Water Wisteria, would probably be found in Low to High lighting, Floating, Submerged, Emersed, Bog, and Indian Subcontinent.
For all I know, which is not much, some of you would even like to include pH, CO2, iron, perhaps even amount of water movement.
This would be quite a project no amateur should take on. Is there really nothing of the sort already in existence? Should we ban together to fund such an endeavor? Gofundme, lol? Let's make a Plantedtank.net database!
