How to set up an air pump to circulate water

I'd like to get some water circulation going in my nano tank that is filterless. I can buy a cheap 10-15 dollar air pump used in filters to pump water up to a filter but I dont know how to use the the air pump in conjunction with tubing to create water flow. Everything I search for on how filters work go in the route of explaining the biological process of it not the engineering part of the filter.

Bubble rises up tube and pushes water along with it, about a 50/50 mix of air to water gets most flow, to much air and that’s all that goes up tube is a bunch of air. Really if you just put a rigid airline tube down to bottom corner of tank, bubbles rising up wall will pull a good bit of water with them as they rise, no need for lift tube.

But for what most air pumps cost except the cheapest, worst piece of crap you can just get a mignon filter.
