Aquarium stand questions

Hey everyone!

I'm having a bit of trouble on getting an aquarium stand,I'm goind to set up a 6.5 gallon semi hexagon tank and I'm not sure what stand to get. I'm not sure if I should get a 10 gallon stand and most stands tend to be very expensive. Metal stands tend to not have a solid top, instead they have a hole with bars in the middle, will that work?

If you are handy with tools go to Goodwill, second hand stores , and get a table or something like that and reinforce if necessary . A tank that size will be less than a 100 lbs I think . Measure the foot print of the tank and use your imagination . Should be able to get a stand for $20 or less . Good luck .

My wife says if I get one more aquarium she is going to leave me . I sure am going to miss her fried chicken .

I have a 10 gallon tank on one of these cube shelves

I also use the metal stands from Home depot and just put some wood on the top

A 6.5 gallon is around 50-60 pounds when full. Most any side table, end table, night stand, shelf unit, etc should be able to support the weight. If you can lean on it and it doesn't collapse you should be good to go.

+1 to @ObsidianRose -- I have small tanks on dressers (just bought an antique dresser for my craft room just so I could use it to house the 15 gallon tank I'm putting together!), desks, and on a sturdy pressed board bookshelf that is 4 foot tall.

It's not a mystery...snails are the BEST!
