A discussion about hitch-hikers...

Had a thought about hitch-hikers normally presenting problems/being a nuisance, but wondered if any of you had experience where the hitch-hikers were a positive addition. Maybe something rare or beneficial in some way to you or your tank, or freebies of sorts.

I got some Subwassertang and maybe peacock moss (?) when I bought a couple fish a while back that had been netted in the process.

How about the rest of you?

I have MTS

A few days ago I bought wisteria. The store just tosses plants into a bag. They don't even add water. After I removed the wisteria I went to toss the bag and I noticed something in the bottom. Turns out it was a 2 inch long Bamboo shrimp!

He's in my heavily planted tank now. I'm researching the breed and trying to make him happy. A shocking hitch-hiker!

I posted a pic of him in this thread.

I am adding a video of him

I had bought some moss at an auction and got 5 or 6 cherry shrimp hitchhikers!

I once found an orange/brown striped snail in a batch of salvinia minima someone sent me. Grew into this very attractive apple snail:

Lived for a year in my 45, I really enjoyed watching it.
